Come Fly With Us
Keywords : new modes of interaction, playful, engaging, entertaining, interactive installation

"Come Fly with Us" project is carried out by Massimo Banzi and dotdotdot, Italy. This is an interactive car game for promoting a newly launched car. Hand gestures are used to navigate the car by the use of a bunch of infrared sensors and pressure sensors. The idea is to provide an altogether different experience to users of car games (existing and new).

The additional potential the project has is:
1. Many games can be operated through a single installation.
2. It can be put to use in searching different areas via Google Earth through simple hand gestures.
3. Many functions in the computer like playing movies, music, increasing and decreasing volume etc. can be accomplished by this very function.

This project was exhibited in Milan for one week, open to public to engage with it. As an extension of this project, google earth was operated through gestural interaction. To navigate right and left, user has to bend right and left respectively. Zooming In and Out was done by moving user's hand closer and far to beam respectively.

Interactive Cube

Interactive Cube is a result of a 5 days workshop at Mediamatic lab, Amsterdam with some educators Timo Arnall (Norway), Sascha Pohflepp(Germany), Nicholas Nova(Swedan), Giles Lane (UK).

The RFID tagged 'interactive cube' is a cube used to interact with computers/laptops without using a mouse or keyboard. Different websites, folders, music, movies etc. can be stored on each side of the cube. As the side of the cube changes, the RFID reader reads the tag and changes the folder, websites etc. accordingly. The programming is done using python.

This workshop focused on knowing and learning GPS system, RFID, phidgets and other technological substances helping in rapid prototyping.

Workshops - Interactive toys/Keyboard Hacking/Arduino

During my curriculum i attended several workshops of prototyping tools like arduino, pure data, interactive toys and keyboard hacking. These workshops were conducted by Massimo Banzi, Adam Solmai Fischer.

These workshops are focused on basic prototyping tools to build the conceptual work.It gave a basic idea of different sensors, motors, actuators and other electrical and mechanical component important for building prototypes.
